Wireframes

We are finally starting to get involved with the actual design of the site. This week we learned about wireframes and their importance in laying things out the way we want them. Like a lot of other things, it all comes back to logical organization of the information we have. We have split up the site into some of the important pages. I'm doing the home page, Mike is doing the searchable housing page, Andrew is doing the Current Events and Jessie is doing the Donate page.

  1. After reviewing our sitemap with Dr. Lustria, I realized that both the sitemap and wireframe have shown that it really does depend on what words you use. Changing things to more action-oriented words and making sure we don't alienate any of our visitors with word choice are very important.

  2. I went back and made the essential changed to our site map. After our smaller wireframe assignment, and the finalized sitemap, I see a very clear picture of what the site is going to look like. One or two meetings with Mellisa and we should be ready to develop the final product.

  3. I am working on a shared wireframe of global navigation links that will look the same on all of our pages. I also am beginning to visualize what the site will look like. The wireframe definitely is a great tool that has showed me the structure of the website and the specific relationships between pages.
